Meals are served at the following times:

Kindly inform reception should you have any dietary requirements.

Dine with us at the Phelwana Room, adjacent to the reception, and enjoy the beautiful views of the dam and bushveld beyond. Breakfasts and Lunch can be enjoyed on the deck daily, weather depending.

Our bar is situated in the garden of the Main Lodge. Here our guests can enjoy refreshments and catch up on the local sport or news of the day. Adjacent to the bar is our Lapa, where guests can enjoy the campfire in the evenings and share stories about their day. Braais or barbeques are served here. Our chefs cook on open flame and guests are served from the fire. A truly wonderful and authentic dining experience.

Guests are reminded to enquire at reception, the evening before, should they require an early breakfast pack arranged for their trip to the Kruger National Park or surrounding area.

Our chefs will prepare a special Phelwana picnic full of delicious delicacies for enjoyment in the Lodge Garden or around the pool.

Phelwana has a curio shop, situated at the main lodge, which holds necessities as well as gifts. We carry supplies such as adapters, maps of the area and many other items.

An in-house laundry service is available. Laundry is to be left in the supplied laundry bag along with the completed laundry list. Housekeeping department will collect the laundry when servicing the accommodation.

Laundry will be charged to the guest account.

A complimentary coffee and tea selection is available in all our accommodation.

Please note that all amenities placed in our accommodation are for guests’ convenience during their stay and for those who follow. Please refrain from removing bottles.

Please note: There is no lifeguard on duty, diving is prohibited, use the pool at your own risk.

Kindly note: That non white swimming towels are provided for use around the swimming pool.

Please notify us should extra towels / replacement towels be required.

Departure time is 10:00.

The gate times are 07:00 - 19:00.

Kindly notify reception should you be returning to the lodge after 19:00.

We are very proud of our staff and their aim is to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. We encourage guests who experience anything that is not up to standard to report it to our reception immediately.

Should there be any need for maintenance attention, we request our guests to kindly to inform and assist us to keep our rooms in prime condition.

As a rule of thumb, guests tip 10% (of your total bill) as a minimum. Foreign currency is acceptable. A safari experience in South Africa is not just spectacular because of the animals, it's also usually out-of-this-world because of the careful attention of a contingent of staff members. 

Our guides and rangers, keep you safe on safari and lead a once-in-a-lifetime experience out in the beautiful wild. Our housekeeping staff, keeps your accommodation clean and tidy. Our kitchen staff who prepare all your flavoursome meals, maintenance department ensuring your accommodation is kept up to standard. Our Front of House staff whom arrange your activities and answer all questions to make your stay exceptional. Lastly but not least, our servers, who tend to your every culinary need.

Special Note: Assuming you've enjoyed your stay, you are more than welcome to give an individual a gratuity. Please note that a pooled tip for the general staff can be handed to Reception upon Check out.

Total for General Staff: R100 - R250 per person travelling per day (or 10% of your final bill).
